Time for the Turnaround (2004) marked a defining step forward. Recorded at Colorado Sound, it was our most ambitious studio effort to date, a fully realized project built around a band that had truly come into its own.
With longtime collaborator John Tendell on bass and the addition of New Orleans–seasoned drummer Marion Edwards, the rhythm section brought a new depth of groove and personality to the music. Both Tendell and Edwards were strong vocalists as well, and alongside Johnny, the trio developed rich three-part harmonies that became a defining element of the album’s sound.
