Life’s Tough (2012) was recorded in the wake of the passing of Johnny O’s longtime friend and mentor Howard Berkman. To honor his music, the band included five of his songs. Recorded live at the Dickens Opera House in Longmont, Colorado, the album captures the energy of a live performance, with subtle studio touches to bring out each track. Marion Edwards drives the drums, Ian Anderson anchors the bass, and Bruce Delaplane adds rich keyboard textures, creating a heartfelt tribute and a showcase of the band’s enduring chemistry.
